Fager Iris Wristwarmer

The name of the pattern, Fager, is a tribute to the graceful plant family Liliaceae. The lily is the best-known plant in this family, but there are also other popular garden plants such as the iris, as well as rarer and more delicate species such as Lilium formosanum, the long-flowered Easter lily.

Åse Öjbro, founder and designer of Öjbro Vantfabrik, drew inspiration for this pattern from the longstanding Swedish tradition of knitting beautiful floral designs - something women have done throughout history to adorn their everyday surroundings and pass on their craft to future generations. Her favorite flower is the iris, and with this pattern she hopes to capture our love and astonishment of nature and all the beautiful flowers we are blessed with.
