Most duffels make you dig for the last thing you packed. The 55L opens properly across the top and stays open while you load, so all your kit stays visible rather than buried under itself. There's no zip on it — RUX built the closure around a patent-pending segmented roll-top instead, since zips are usually the first thing to give out in bad weather. Compressed, it's carry-on friendly, which makes it just as handy for a fast weekend away as it is for a short mission.
