Sometimes it's all about the right tool for the job – which you'll perhaps appreciate if you've ever tried to make a hiking daypack do double-duty as a biking pack. Specially designed for the demands of gravel and mountain bikers, the men's Raptor 14 from Osprey is an incredibly well-thought-out bit of kit – with a bike-specific winged harness and airmesh wrap hipbelt for unbeatable stability. Primarily a hydration pack, it comes with an Osprey Hydraulics LT 2.5-litre reservoir, and they’ve also thrown in a handy removable tool roll. For a compact pack, the Raptor will carry a surprising amount of stuff. There's a LidLock attachment for your helmet, while the side compression straps will also take a full-face helmet and knee pads.
