Commando sole, alpine heritage, Italian craftsmanship

Handcrafted in northern Italy, these Alpiflex mountain boots are built on a rugged commando rubber sole. D-ring lacing hardware and a padded collar ensure a snug and supported fit on uneven ground. Inside, the vegetable-tanned calf leather lining breathes well and will soften with wear, while the memory foam footbed takes the edge off long days. The level of build quality is literally generations in the making, since Alpiflex are a small family firm that has been in the bootmaking game for over a century.

  • Tips for Suede Uppers

Suede uppers require a different cleaning approach than leather uppers.

    • Use a suede eraser to remove stains, rubbing gently in circular motions.
    • Restore nap with a suede brush, brushing in one direction.
    • For stubborn stains, mix equal parts water and white vinegar, apply with a soft-bristled brush, blot with a clean cloth, and air dry.
    • Locally Sourced - From the materials to the final product, each Astorflex shoe is made in their own facilities located in Castel d'Ario, Mantova, Italy.
    • Made in Europe- made in Italy
    • Eco-initatives -Astorflex use only the finest, sustainably sourced materials, and our manufacturing processes are designed to minimize waste and reduce our carbon footprt.
  • Quietly beavering away in the small town of Castel d'Ario since 1820, Astorflex is one of Italy's oldest shoemakers – and still very much a family affair. CEO Fabio Travenzoli is the sixth generation of his family to run the factory, and he’s already training up his son, Guilio, to take over the reins one day.

Using carefully selected leathers, craftsmanship comes front and centre here – and every last boot or shoe is made in-house from the very best natural materials. The calf leather linings and insoles are vegetable-tanned without harsh chemicals, the soles are mostly natural rubber, and even the adhesives they use are water-based throughout. After the First World War, the company adopted the ‘ideal’ method of constructing shoes – a skilled stitching process that takes a little longer but makes for a drastically more durable boot.

The result is footwear that’s soft, flexible and moulds to your feet over time – classic shapes like desert boots, chukkas and hikers that’ll go wherever your feet take you. From street-corner cafés to the mountains and savannahs, this level of quality is generations in the making.
